We kept walking and walking outside the hot scorching sun. Jade started crying.... again.
"What now?", I mumbled so quietly that no one could hear me. You know that saying that little kids are the best at sensing trouble?, well Jade did, there were 5 search dogs lurking quietly behind us. I knew they were trouble when I saw them. Let's just say that I have horrible luck when it comes to having luck. Luckily the dogs turned out to be calm and friendly. We got out of that trap but, we still had to find the jewel. I was now getting very homesick, but when I thought about Amber and how she didn't have any family, I realized how lucky I am, well, was..
"You OK?", Amber asked.
"Yeah, I'm good", I said, she didn't deserve this, I felt so bad for her.
She then stopped everyone, I asked why, and she told us that we had arrived!!! We were so close to getting the Jewel of Cranes, it was just sitting there in the middle of a deep, dark hallway. This was too easy, there had to be a trap, which there was. There was a pattern in the floor in which we had to step.
"Easy, the alone fish, then the cloud, then the flower, and lastly, the 5 fishes together", Amber said
"Wow, I underestimated you, I mean wow..just wow..", I told her.
We crossed that but now we had to swing across a vine to avoid quick sand. We all were across, everyone, but one person, Amber, as she was about to go, the vine was overwhelmed by all that weight, and she fell in the quick sand. She knew what to do though, she grabbed another vine and got out, I have to admit, if anything happened to her, I don't know what I'd do. Next we had to solve a puzzle, and we had 3 tries. The puzzle said, twice as much as now, lays within, solve this answer now to win. One girl guessed Family, but no, then we tried love but no, at last Amber gave it a try, and the answer was sacrifice, If we sacrifice our hate to help others, the feeling of victory lasts twice as long. Now for the Jewel, we had to get it.
"Aha, you fools, I knew you would come in handy on this quest, and now I will use this Jewel to rule the world, you were just the pawns in my plan, you did all the work, and I only have to do one thing now, destroy you all and grab that Jewel!!", Lauren said in an evil way.
"Why are you doing this, don't you want to have your family back?", I asked.
"Why what has life ever given me, I was orphaned at 2 ,months of age, my kids and husband died in a car accident, why do I care, I don't, I won't", she said.
We couldn't believe this, the person that we all trusted the most, was now ready to just destroy us to rule the world!!!!
