Chapter 1: Finding Out the Truth.
Have
you ever thought that you are really good at something but when time comes to
prove yourself, you get really scared? Well that happened to me, but in a much
worse situation. My family and I lived in a house in the most beautiful part of
Alabama. As
soon as I stepped outside, I was surrounded by flowers of all colors, beautiful
and tall evergreen trees and a river that went by behind the trees. It was
practically paradise, but nothing’s perfect, my life wasn’t either. One day, I
came home and found the house empty. I was scared to death and then remembered
that I had left my phone in my locker at school. I looked everywhere but
couldn’t find anyone, not my mom, my dad, my little brother, no one. I went
straight to the house phone and called mom, then dad, but nothing. I was all
alone. I went back to school to get my phone, but there was no one there
either, when just 15 minutes ago there were people everywhere. I was confused
and scared and-
“HEY”,
a heard someone say behind me. My heart was racing like I was driving a race car
at 1000mph, and any minute now, I would collide into another car. I turned
around and saw a girl about my age standing in front of me. She had blonde
hair, hazel eyes, she was probably 2 or 3 years older than me, and was wearing
a combat suit of some kind; you know the kind of suit you where when you’re
driving a race car (ironic right?).
“Who
are you? And why is there on one anywhere around here? What’s going on? And why
are you wearing that? And where are my parents?!!!!!!” I could feel my voice
getting louder as I spoke, “I sorry, I’m just scared and confused, please help
me”.
“I
know how you feel, we were all trapped here 5 years ago, we all felt the same
way, but eventually got used to it”, she said as she tried to calm me down.
“What,
wait you mean my life is stuck this way, no parents, no brother, no family,
just me”, I was literally screaming now.
“You
have us, we have you, that is what gives us strength”, she tried to assure me.
I still didn’t get why she kept saying “we”,
there was no one around for miles, but just then, I heard people murmuring.
Soon there were at least 30 people around me. I was so confused.
“This
is what I meant by we”, she said. It’s like she could read my mind. “By the
way, I’m Amber, what’s your name?” she asked.
“I’m Zoe”, I replied “now can you tell me what’s going now? Please”.
“Well,
don’t freak out, but you are stuck in a parallel universe where only girls
under the age of 20 can live, and there is no way you can get back”, she
answered.
“WHAT?!!!!!!”
I screamed at the top of my head, I guess I looked sad because all the other
girls tried to comfort me. But if they hadn’t noticed by now, comforting won’t
help, I was stranded in a parallel world where I am alone and have no family
around to show me the way. I was determined to find a way to get things back to
normal. I tried day, night, dawn, sunrise, and sunset, I mean I kept on trying.
One day I was walking along the beach when I heard a boom. It sounded like a
spaceship or something had entered the atmosphere. I went to see it; yes I know
that sounds stupid. I looked inside of what looked like a submarine of some
kind. Inside, I could see someone, I got all excited thinking it was my family
when it turned out to be a women way over the age to 20. She seemed hurt, so I
helped her, she was probably 35 or something, had dark blue eyes, wore a white
silk robe, and wore a crown which made her look all queen like. After helping
her, I asked her what was her name; she answered “my name is Lauren”.
“Hey
Lauren, I’m- , she interrupted me.
“I
know, Zoe, right? She asked.
“Yeah
but how do you know me”, I asked, I was pretty sure that I sounded confused.
“I
know everything, dear”, she said. I was about asking another question but I
realized that I should probably let her meet the others. But when she came in
front of them, they all bowed like she was some queen. I guess I looked puzzled
because she explained to me that she was the only person that could travel
between the two worlds; she was kind of like a messenger. She then told me that
my family had sent me a message, I was so happy. She showed me a hologram in
which my parents told me that they were fine and were worried about me and that
they are trying to get the worlds back together again. I was so happy that my
family was okay, and at least there was a way for me to communicate with them.
I sent them a message saying I was okay, I love them, and we can do this
together and other patronizing stuff. All the other girls did the same. We were
all happy when another girl showed up like me, in our world. She was freaking
out. She was four years old though and was the cutest thing ever. She had brown
eyes like me, had dark hair like me, and best of all, she was my cousin, Jade.
I ran up to her and hugged her, to tell her it was okay. She got calm a little
bit after seeing me. She asked me where her mommy was, but the only thing I
could tell her was, “you’ll see her soon, Jade, you’ll see her soon.
I love your writing...your words...imagination...
